Spring Sports
The Department of Athletics at Dougherty Valley High School is committed to enriching campus life through a program of interscholastic athletics. We promote the development of qualities in the student-athlete that will serve the participating individual and our community. At Dougherty Valley high School we believe athletics is an integral part of the educational process. The many lessons that athletics can learn include: sportsmanship, self-discipline, teamwork, commitment, and developing self-confidence, as well as dealing with success and overcoming adversity. These are lessons that will last a lifetime. The true value of High School athletics rests in the learning of these lessons and working to develop future leaders.
Our CIF/NCS/EBAL sport offerings include:
Spring: Badminton, Baseball, Softball, Swimming, Diving, Track and Field, Girls and Boys Lacrosse, Boys Golf, Boys Tennis, Boys Volleyball, and Stunt

Funding
High school athletics in the San Ramon Valley Unified School district cannot function without your support. High schools do not receive district (tax dollar) funds for equipment, uniforms, transportation, and most coaching stipends. As such, participation donations are solicited to fund these valuable programs. Without your generous donations, sports at Dougherty Valley High School cannot be offered. High school sports cost much less than outside club sports and we appreciate your help in keeping our Wildcat teams afloat.
Participation Donations (defined)
Donations are used to cover the major operating costs of our athletic budget including officials, equipment, possible athletic trainers, supervision/security, facilities, first aid supplies, CIF dues, NCS dues & league fees, and more. The suggested donation will be detailed in a specific sport budget presented to parents at an orientation meeting after teams have been finalized. Your athletic donation is tax deductible and goes directly to the sport your child is participating in and is a direct benefit to your child
Participation
Athletic programs can only survive through parent donations, however, an individual’s participation on a team is not dependent on financial donations. We encourage all interested students to try out for athletic teams.
